Position:  CONTRACT – Counselling Therapist – Intensive Services  (until mid-October 2022)

Location:  Serving Leeds & Grenville (Brockville office)

Reporting To:  Genevieve Fincher, Program Director, Intensive Services

Job Summary: 

The Intensive Services program is a predominately in home treatment program that addresses the emotional and behavioural needs of children and youth up to 18 years of age.  Using a range of evidence informed treatment modalities, the Counselling Therapist provides case coordination, treatment planning, and intensive intervention to build on families strengths and deal with mental health difficulties.  The Counselling Therapist will also provide service in the walk in clinics. Evening work will be required.


  • Masters degree in a relevant social sciences field preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services/social sciences discipline;
  • Currently registered, or eligible for registration, in a relevant regulatory body (CRPO, OCSWSSW);
  • Experience in child/youth, group and family counseling in areas including (but not limited to) trauma, anxiety, suicide risk assessment, crisis intervention, would be considered an asset;
  • Experience in collaborating work with schools and community partners;
  • Candidates would benefit from experience and specialized training in various clinical interventions and modalities
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and community resources;
  • Outstanding client service and a family centred focus;
  • Demonstrated assessment skills;
  • Full use of a car and be able to transport clients and hold appropriate insurance;
  • Ability to set up a home office with reliable internet connection and privacy; and
  • Knowledge working with various computer programs including Microsoft Teams.

  • Wage scale – $31.29/hour – $38.69/hour
